Earthrace

earthrace
The 78-foot alternative fuel-powered boat named Earthrace is a wave-piercing trimaran that is part of a project to break the world record for global circumnavigation in a powerboat using renewable fuels. The Earthrace is powered solely by biodiesel fuel. In June of 2008, the boat successfully set a world record of 60 days for circumnavigating the globe. This beat by 13 days a 1998 record set by the Ocean 7 Adventurer.  Future plans for Earthrace include use by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in obstructing Japanese whaling vessels.

See the official Earthrace website for more information. You can also see this earlier post on PlanetSolar, another futuristic vessel.

It is unbelievable that France lost. How quick was that. I expected that they had a good shot to do well in this years world cup. Maybe in four years. Maybe its time to jump on the Argentina bandwagon. Looks like Demichelis has already scored. Go Argentina. To cheer me up from that devastating loss by France, I have been listening to some funny jokes.. This was super hillarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3j7uSbccSc
