Ocean yachts

Ocean Yachts was founded in 1977 by Jack Leek.  However, Jack Leek was not the first Leek to develop a love for boats.  The historic Mullica River was witness to the construction of the first boats by the Leeks since 1721.  Ocean Yachts are known for building sportfishing boats in the 40′ to 73′ class.  It is quite amazing to know that Ocean Yacht’s heritage can be traced as far back as the pioneer British colonies in Amerca.  Ocean Yachts owns a part of history.

The grandfather Leek’s manufactured vessels were instrumental in developing U.S. coastal and river trade and help establish a rich fishing industry.  Moreover, part of the Ocean yacht’s heritage since the grandfather Leek was battling pirates and privateers, and intercepting rumrunners during Prohibition, and participated in stopping the German U-boats during WWII.

It would be safe to say that the family’s contribution to the American maritime industry is as old as the industry itself.  The concept of pleasure crafts is attributed to C.P. Leek, the father of Jack Leek, who was also the pioneer of the pleasure crafts industry in the U.S.  In the later part of the century, his pleasure boats would become the most sought-after kinds in the market.  The present construction of Ocean yachts may have little similarity with the vessels of the older Leeks but the same principle and determination to build yachts of the highest quality pervaded among the younger Leek generation.

Ocean Yachts is the biggest manufacturer of high-quality models of Sport Fish, Super Sports, and Odyssey within the 40′ to 73′ class.  Ocean Yachts are ideal for serious buffs who are into sports fishing as well as enjoy leisure sailing.  Those who are new into sailing would benefit to learn that Ocean Yachts are popular for their excellent combination of durability, luxury, power, speed, and overall performance.

Ocean Yachts has built a new “starting point” in the industry of American yachts.  The year 2007 is the launching year of an all-new yacht, which is the smallest boat in the series.  However, Ocean assures boaters that the small considerably has a big performance with its twin-diesel-powered 42 SuperSport.  Ocean boasts of their 42 Super Sport to be the most spacious, having the largest bridge, and a cockpit with the largest room compared to boats in her class.

The rest of the Ocean Yachts Super Sport series likewise are constructed with the same features that Ocean is known for – durable yachts that ensure safety and a cozy interior that provides the comforts of home.  The SuperSport series include 42′, 46′, 50′, 54′, 57′, 62′, and 73′.  Ocean Yachts has another series to its name called the Odyssey that includes yachts 57m and 65m in lengths.
